3Cut My Music To Time — only if it's too long
When you cut a part it is gone from the song right away — press play and you'll hear the join. A red line marks every cut on the graph; tap it to put the part back, all of it or one 8-count at a time. Cuts always land on the beat. Your original music file is never changed.
4Write Your Steps & Notes
Every 8-count has a line for each count. Type the step or a note on the count it happens — it saves by itself, so come back any time. Enter moves to the next count. The line lights up gold as the music plays.

Questions Teachers Ask
What does this tool do?
Load a song and in a few seconds you have every 8-count numbered and the Intro, Verse, Chorus and Bridge marked — press Print and it's in the binder. Then it saves by itself so you can come back and write steps and notes on each count, cut the music to the competition time, and slow it down to clean.
Can it cut my music?
Yes. Drag across the graph over the part you want gone and press Cut This Out — it's gone from the song right away and you hear the join. Or type the time limit and press Pick The Cuts For Me. A red line marks every cut; tap it to put the part back, all of it or one 8-count at a time. Download the cut song, or a cut sheet for your music editor. Your original file is never touched.
Can I use Spotify or Apple Music?
No. Streaming apps encrypt their audio so no website can read it — that's enforced by your browser. Use the mix your editor sent, a track you purchased and saved, or a file from a CD.
Does my music get uploaded?
Never. The file is read from your drive and stays there. Even the cut song is built on your computer. Saved count sheets hold your counts and notes, not the audio.
Do I have to know the BPM?
No. Press Find The Beat For Me and the tool works it out. Tapping is there as a backup.
Counting too fast or too slow?
Some music can be counted two ways — quick 8s or slow 8s. Press ½ Count slower or 2× Count faster next to the counter. The beat and the "1" stay locked to the song.
The counter is on the wrong 1
Play the song and press TAP ON THE 1 (next to the counter) right when you hear count 1. Every 8-count lines up from there. Your steps move with it.
How do I know the counts are right?
Turn the click on and play 30 seconds. If the click sits on the beat the whole way, you're set. If it slides off, press Find The Beat For Me again.
Sections
The Intro, Verse, Chorus and Bridge are marked for you when the song loads — it listens for the phrases that repeat. Not right? Play the song and tap Intro, Verse, Chorus… where each part really starts (or press keys 1–8). It snaps to the 8-count.
Loop and clean
Park in a section, turn on Loop, drop the speed to 75% (the pitch stays the same), and the hardest eight counts repeat while you clean them.
What about a waltz?
Set How do you count this music? to 3s. Every box gets 3 lines, the counter shows 1-2-3, and the click accents every 1.
